Department of Unnecessary Longing

About the Institute

The Institute for the Study of Unnecessary Longing was established to examine a condition most people suffer from quietly: the persistent habit of missing what is absent, unfinished, or imagined.

Its principal instrument, the Yearning Disability Test, consists of fifteen questions administered under conditions of complete self-honesty. Results are classified across six tiers of increasing severity. The Institute regrets that the upper tiers continue to fill.

Methodology

Subjects are assessed on window-staring, playlist maintenance, attachment to alternate timelines, and the frequency with which they reread old messages. The Institute has not yet determined why so many subjects score above the median.

Notice

This assessment is provided for entertainment. Yearning Disability is not a recognized medical or psychological condition, and the test is not scientifically validated or a diagnosis. If you are struggling, please speak with a qualified health professional or a local support service.

Who made this

The test is an independent project associated with rojoshaman.org. It does not claim that any practice cures any condition, real or fictional.
